This site may not look right in Internet Explorer, but looks good in other browsers and especially in Safari 4. I work through browsers constantly which magnifies the good and bad in each and so I recommend a browser other than IE; there are several good options.  Click here to watch the video and choose one or many that you like.  They are all free. We'll fix the issue but it seemed a good segue to a useful tip and worth the risk of looking like we don't know what we're doing.

Imposing Black and White on a World of Gray

Imposing Black and White on a Future of Gray is a system to identify and evaluate the objective nature of the institution of law school in an effort to fashion a strategy the makes sense in that environment.  I call the underlying theory, definitional theory of bounded educational systems, which roughly translated holds that school is finite and definite and by identifying how and why we can use it to our advantage.

The entire book is  heavy on theory and instead of leading with the theory as I had to this point. Instead, I am going to cut to the chase, make a series of heretical statements, and follow with theory as necessary.  For example:

  • Don't Take Notes in Class
  • Don't Make Outlines
  • Don't Use Commercial Outlines
  • Cut Your Books Up with an Exacto Knife
  • Don't join a Study Group

I should have the new format complete in time for the fall 2009 semester.  In the meantime, I have left up some funny videos made by some creative law students and the store is still here if you want to get a pretty good deal on books from Amazon.
